Ayocote Beans
$7.50 USD
1 lb bag
These plump, earthy ayocote morado beans are a rich shade of purple. They’ll add visual interest and deep flavor to any bean preparation.
The Ayocote plant is closely connected with the cultivation of corn, meaning they are traditionally grown in the same plot alongside each other.
Great for stews, soups and salads. Soak 4-8 hours, then cover with 2 inches of fresh water, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover with lid slightly open and simmer until tender, approximately 1.5-2.5 hours. For extra flavor add onion, garlic, oil or lard.
Produced in Mexico and packaged by the Indigenous Food Lab Team.
